GDP Organizing Regional Livestock Carbon Markets Events

Global Dairy Platform (GDP) is organizing regional livestock carbon markets events in Southeast Asia and South Asia in April and May, respectively, as part of an initiative that will culminate with a global convening in London in October 2025. Both upcoming regional events aim to convene policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss livestock’s role in carbon markets and identify pathways for methane reduction and carbon sequestration.

The ASEAN Regional Livestock Carbon Markets Convening 2025 will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on April 22 (1-6 p.m., followed by a dinner reception and networking) in collaboration with the ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets (AACM). This event will be hybrid.

The Regional Livestock Carbon Market Convening in India will be held on May 7 (9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.) in New Delhi, in collaboration with the Carbon Markets Association of India.

The Livestock Carbon Markets Initiative Global Convening is set for October 7 in London.

FAO Sustainable Livestock Transformation Webinar Series

As part of its Sustainable Livestock Transformation project and leading up to the FAO 2025 Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation (September 29-October 1 in Rome), FAO is offering a series of webinars. The series, which started in March, includes:

  • April 17: Strengthening Institutions for a Sustainable Livestock Future
  • May 15: Consumers as Catalysts for Sustainable Livestock and Food System Transformation
  • June 19: Community-Driven Innovations for Livestock Sustainability
  • July 17: Unlocking Financial and Socio-economic Value in Livestock Systems
  • September 11: Advancing Animal Health and Welfare for Sustainable Livestock Systems

The conference will bring together FAO members, policymakers, farmers, private companies and industry associations, civil society representatives, NGOs, researchers, and development agencies to share experiences and showcase actionable solutions for the sustainable transformation of the livestock sector – advancing better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.
